Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Haier XQJ50-31 Agitator 1-2/3-Cubic-Foot Portable WasherCustomer Review: Horrendous Summary: 2 Stars
This washer does a poor job of water control. The machine will constantly add water throughout the wash. It just wastes too much water in only 1 wash. For anyone who does not want a high water bill please stay away from this!!!! The only good thing about this product is that on the spin cycle this washer can get your clothes really dry compared to another washers. However, regardless Please stay away from this!
Customer Review: I bought four of these! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought some of these little washers to put in one of my apartment buildings because they are so small and reasonably priced. The tenants love them! They do a great job with a minimal amount of fuss and have all held up well thus far. They require a little assembly but I found it relatively easy and the instructions were clear. I plan to buy more in the future. Amazon does a good job with the shipping and makes good on their promises. Expect some dents and dings from the poor shipping carton provided by the manufacturer in China.
Customer Review: I couldn't expect more! Summary: 5 Stars
I brought this washer three years ago mainly because my daughter was born and I didn't want wash my little one's clothes in a public washer. The washer has worked great and never give me any trouble. I couldn't expect more from it. It's perfect for a family size of three. We moved three times since we brought this washer and I didn't have difficulties of moving it because it's light and portable compared to heavy duty washers which you need three or more people to move. My husband and I love this washer so much!
Customer Review: I hate laundromats Summary: 4 Stars
But I've been enduring them for the past 9 years thanks to no laundry in my apartment building. However, with our first baby on the way, we finally decided we needed to try to find some solution so we wouldn't have to make daily trips to the laundromat.
As others have said, dings are pretty much par for the course thanks to the packaging inadequacies of the product. Ours arrived with a couple on the outside, and there was also a mystery plastic part that was in several pieces -- we had no idea what it was or what its functionality was, but since we'd already lugged this thing into the car from my husband's office and then dragged it up the flight of stairs to our apartment (not that the nine-months pregnant woman was much help), we figured it was worth trying out first to see if it worked.
Setup was fairly easy to figure out -- we swapped in the casters and then screwed on the bottom pan (thanks to those who warned about putting it in the right way, as my husband was about to screw it on the wrong way). We've also got a single faucet sink rather than separate connections for hot and cold, but instead of buying the Y connector, we just hooked up a hose to the cold section on the recommendation of another reviewer. One word of warning on this -- be sure you hook the hose up to the cold output and then be sure you're always running cold/cold cycles if you do this. We initially had it on the hot input and then realized no water was getting into the washer.
Once we got that stuff figured out, we did a short cycle with low water as a test run to make sure that the broken (and therefore non-functioning) mystery plastic parts weren't going to cause crazy leaks or malfunctions with their absence. They didn't, and the laundry came out beautifully. We've done a few loads since then, and they've all come out great. While we'll still use the laundromat for heavy-duty/large-volume items like our sheets/jeans/towels, it's SO nice to know that when this baby finally gets here, that I'll be able to keep up with her laundry needs without having to leave the apartment. Now I just need her to get here.
Customer Review: I just love this machine Summary: 5 Stars
The cycles are quite efficient. The heavy cycle will ruin delicate clothes. The gentle cycle is quite gentle. The normal cycle is just right and really gets clothes clean. The leveling mechanism works perfectly quite an intelligent machine. I am one happy camper. It is small but does my blankets and clothing. The only thing that I must take to the Laundromat is my heavy comforter. I just hope the digital board has a long life.
